Aeroplane, aka Vito De Luca and Stephen Fasano, are two producers and DJs of the nu disco genre. The pair of Belgium-based producers blend the sounds of psyché Guitars, pop keys, melancholic waves, disco beats, and catchy basslines.


Their first release entitled ‘Caramellas/Aeroplane’, on Eskimo Recordings, was in 2007.


They have also produced remixes for the likes of MGMT, Lindström, Cut Copy, Bloc Party and Grace Jones.

Róisín Marie Murphy is an Irish singer-songwriter and record producer, known for her electronic style.
Murphy first came to note as part of the electronic music duo Moloko. Her partner in the band was then-boyfriend Mark Brydon. After the two ended their romantic relationship, Murphy released her debut solo album Ruby Blue, written and produced with Matthew Herbert, in 2005. Her second solo album Overpowered was released in 2007.

Victoria Christina Hesketh (born 4 May 1984), also known by her stage name/pseudonym Little Boots, is an English electropop singer–songwriter. Her nickname was given to her by a friend, and is a reference to the fact that she has small feet. As a musician Little Boots sings and plays the keyboard, piano, stylophone and a Japanese electronic instrument called Tenori-on.

After a return to college to focus on her studies, Hesketh along with two of her fellow students formed the indie pop/electronic band Dead Disco. The band had limited releases of two their singles but due to increasingly different ideas about the band’s musical direction Hesketh left to pursue a solo career.

Hesketh has cited as influences Captain Beefheart, Britney Spears, The Human League, Gary Numan, Pink Floyd, Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk.

Hesketh began writing her own songs and posting covers on the social networking sites such as YouTube and MySpace. After appearing on several shows including Later… with Jools Holland and Last Call with Carson Daly, Hesketh entered production on her debut album Hands. With increasing media attention regarding her then-yet-to-be-released debut album, Hesketh topped the BBC Sound of 2009 poll and received a BRIT Critics Choice nomination. With the release of her debut she has become linked to a wave of recent breakthrough female artists in their twenties including Lady Gaga, Ladyhawke, Florence and the Machine and Elly Jackson of La Roux.

Her debut album, Hands, released on the 8 June 2009, peaked at number five on the UK Albums Chart and at number twenty on the Irish Albums Chart. The first single off the album “New in Town” became a top twenty hit, while the next single “Remedy”, produced by RedOne, reached the top ten. She has also released the EP Illuminations in the United States.

Miike Snow is a Swedish band, who formed in 2007. The band consists of singer/songwriter Andrew Wyatt, and the producing team of Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg, also known as Bloodshy & Avant (the duo behind Britney’s Toxic).

Grace Jones is another amazing icon. Last year she released her first studio album in 10 years and she didn’t hold anything back. She’s been making a name for herself as an artist, actor and singer since 1970’s and has been at the fore-front of all that is exciting and cutting edge.

Grace Jones’s striking appearance, height (5′10½”), and manner influenced the cross-dressing movement of the 1980s, such as Annie Lennox. She would also exemplify the “Flat Top” hairstyle in many of her concerts in the 1970s, which would become popular among black men in the 1980s. Her first album cover to feature this hairstyle was 1980’s Warm Leatherette.
Jones maintained both recording and acting careers, although her acting often overshadowed her musical output; except in Europe where her profile as a recording artist was much higher. Her strong visual presence was an advantage for her music videos and concert tours. In her concert performances, she adopted various personas and wore outlandish costumes, particularly during her years with Goude. One such performance was at the Paradise Garage in 1985, for which she collaborated with visual artist Keith Haring for her costume. Haring painted her body in tribal patterns and fitted her with wire armor.”

Mieka Du Franx is one classy lady. A former resident of the vancity, she is now back at her homebase of New York. She took a bit of a break from production, but lately she’s been back in the studio throwing down new tracks for her label Felinephonix Music. She was one of the mainstays of the popkiller parties, and she still knows how to rock the decks…

Burlesque Disco, produced by Mieka Du Franx, a name we are seeing more of from her vocal drops on her own imprint Felinephonix Music, Robsoul Recordings to her remix on house labels, Nervous Records, Is This, and Cuatro to her own label releases on Felinephonix Music. This New York native, develops her stretch for sounds by combining an original Italo Disco sound with elements of a Moog for an innovative project she refers to as, Nu Disco House. Mieka captures the late-night, peak time in the city atmosphere with use of train horns throughout, classic analogue additives, and her own vocal describing her illicit behaviors, strange dances, and ritualistic activities. The ample amount of extended lush for those who see the Nu side of Disco a hot commodity. She also adds a “burlesque beatzie” version that breaks up the original for more of a freestyle pop-lockin groove.

Matias Aguayo lives between Buenos Aires and Paris, djing, making music, performing concerts alone and together with Marcus Rossknecht with their project “BROKE!”.

Born 73 in Santiago de Chile he musically grew up in Cologne, Germany, where he spent the whole 90ies living and contributing to the scene of this city which would have such a deep influence on dancemusic. He was there, as clubkid and dj (e.g. of the legendary Liquid Sky Club) experiencing the creation of new musical styles and contributing by organizing parties and being involved in musical productions such as the project Zimt (w/ Michael Mayer, 1997). Soon he would come up with a new project: Closer Musik (w/ Dirk Leyers). Touring from disco to disco and around the world, performing livesets which also took him to Buenos Aires, Argentina – where he stayed for some time and never really left, organizing temporary free club spaces like the “juventud clandestina” (clandestine youth) and the “hoy” club – a period reflected in Matias’ Album “Are You Really Lost” (Kompakt, 2005).

His main activity nowadays consists in making free parties on the streets together with his friends Ladybumbox, Gary and Pablo, the legendary “bumbumbox” parties in capitals and big cities of Southamerica (Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Asuncion in Paraguay, Sao Paulo, Medellin in Colombia, Santiago de Chile, etc…)

In his djsets (which are partly livesets, considering the integration of singing and a couple of instruments), Matias celebrates his vision of dancemusic, with intensity and sensuality, nights where people dance to dark disco gems, futuristic visions of underground house, nocturnal and groovedriven techno, and obviously lots of unreleased tracks, dancing and singing on top included… from here
