Olive are a dance/breakbeat/trip hop group from the North of England. The founding membership consisted of producer, instrumentalist and songwriter Tim Kellett, producer and keyboard programmer Robin Taylor-Firth, and singer Ruth-Ann Boyle. The band released two albums, the second without Taylor-Firth.
They are best known for the UK number-one single “You’re Not Alone”.

Mieka Du Franx is one classy lady. A former resident of the vancity, she is now back at her homebase of New York. She took a bit of a break from production, but lately she’s been back in the studio throwing down new tracks for her label Felinephonix Music. She was one of the mainstays of the popkiller parties, and she still knows how to rock the decks…

Burlesque Disco, produced by Mieka Du Franx, a name we are seeing more of from her vocal drops on her own imprint Felinephonix Music, Robsoul Recordings to her remix on house labels, Nervous Records, Is This, and Cuatro to her own label releases on Felinephonix Music. This New York native, develops her stretch for sounds by combining an original Italo Disco sound with elements of a Moog for an innovative project she refers to as, Nu Disco House. Mieka captures the late-night, peak time in the city atmosphere with use of train horns throughout, classic analogue additives, and her own vocal describing her illicit behaviors, strange dances, and ritualistic activities. The ample amount of extended lush for those who see the Nu side of Disco a hot commodity. She also adds a “burlesque beatzie” version that breaks up the original for more of a freestyle pop-lockin groove.

Curtis Santiago is a Canadian dance rock musician, originally from Sherwood Park, Alberta. He’s lived all over Canada and i’ve heard his name very often. His newest mixtape taps some past and current pophits and makes them listen-able. Especially that terrible Kid Cudi song….this was the first time i could listen to it all the way through….. Check Him Out!!

Critics and fans agree Santiago’s ability to throw out a freestyle rhyme in the middle of a show or attack a song like a true indie rocker set him apart. The sexual nuances and metaphoric whim only succeed in complementing his eclectic style. The album is raw. What you see is what you get. He wears emotion on his sleeve – when he’s wearing a shirt that is.

Once shy about his slim physique, this reservation has been left by the road somewhere. He’s an all out show that will knock you out live.

Matias Aguayo lives between Buenos Aires and Paris, djing, making music, performing concerts alone and together with Marcus Rossknecht with their project “BROKE!”.

Born 73 in Santiago de Chile he musically grew up in Cologne, Germany, where he spent the whole 90ies living and contributing to the scene of this city which would have such a deep influence on dancemusic. He was there, as clubkid and dj (e.g. of the legendary Liquid Sky Club) experiencing the creation of new musical styles and contributing by organizing parties and being involved in musical productions such as the project Zimt (w/ Michael Mayer, 1997). Soon he would come up with a new project: Closer Musik (w/ Dirk Leyers). Touring from disco to disco and around the world, performing livesets which also took him to Buenos Aires, Argentina – where he stayed for some time and never really left, organizing temporary free club spaces like the “juventud clandestina” (clandestine youth) and the “hoy” club – a period reflected in Matias’ Album “Are You Really Lost” (Kompakt, 2005).

His main activity nowadays consists in making free parties on the streets together with his friends Ladybumbox, Gary and Pablo, the legendary “bumbumbox” parties in capitals and big cities of Southamerica (Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Asuncion in Paraguay, Sao Paulo, Medellin in Colombia, Santiago de Chile, etc…)

In his djsets (which are partly livesets, considering the integration of singing and a couple of instruments), Matias celebrates his vision of dancemusic, with intensity and sensuality, nights where people dance to dark disco gems, futuristic visions of underground house, nocturnal and groovedriven techno, and obviously lots of unreleased tracks, dancing and singing on top included… from here

I thought this album would never come out! She has been teasing us all for years with one off tracks and now finally a full length album has been released… Check out this rather poppy version of what she once was… (almost) similar to the road that lady soverign took, but MUCH MUCH less tacky….

CeCe Peniston was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Phoenix, Arizona at the age of nine. She attended grew up in Phoenix and took to entering beauty pageants where she was crowned Miss Black Arizona in 1989. CeCe’s music career began in 1990 when she signed to A&M Records and got her initial exposure doing featured vocals on Phoenix female rapper Overweight Pooch’s 1991 single “I Like It”.

Peniston released her debut album, ‘Finally’, in 1992 and the first single of the same name achieved #1 chart status on three Billboard charts and also hit No. 2 in the UK. The song was also used in the cult Australian film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. She was personally requested to perform by Aretha Franklin for her birthday, Pope John Paul II at the vatican and Bill Clinton at both of his inauguration ceremonies. Following the abolition of apartheid, Peniston was the first female entertainer to visit and perform in South Africa.

Canadian electronic music posterboy, TIGA has recently released his second full album. He won a juno (yay) for his last album, Sexor that was released in 2007.
